Anthony Williams has experienced first-hand what a strong community can provide. Growing up in Abilene he had the privilege in being mentored and lead by those around him, helping keep him working for the bright future that laid before him. It was during his youth that he began to realize how important opportunity and solid leadership can impact everyone around him.
That is why he has spent most of his adult life mentoring/working with Abilene’s youth and serving in leadership positions in city government. He understood that he had the opportunity and calling to provide others, what he was able to experience. Anthony has spent nearly 2 decades making sure the citizens of Abilene had economic opportunities, safe streets, and a fiscally responsible city government so that his community could grow strong.
Mayor Williams knows that we are all more similar than we are different, and government can’t solve every problem. However, he believes in the return on investment that supporting the entire community can provide. When someone has all of their needs met, they are able to help their neighbor meet their needs, and on the cycle goes.
Building a strong community is one of the core principles in strong government and Mayor Williams has the examples to prove it.
